However, they don’t 100% block light and over time the head strap stretched out. They block the majority of light and stayed on my head all night. I’d probably rate them as a 3 out of 5, which isn’t a bad thing. In truth, these are perfectly decent masks. So, I started my search to find an eye mask that would insulate my eyes and hopefully keep them moist. The one that appealed the most to me was wearing a mask. We discussed treatment options, which were the same I’d seen online. The next time I went to my eye doctor, I gave her my symptoms and she confirmed my self diagnosis. Like most people these days, I googled my condition and came up with a diagnosis.
It’s a pain I hope you never have to endear. This by itself doesn’t sound too terrible, but sometimes when I sleep the dry eyes cause my eyelid to adhere to my eye and opening my lids causes scratches on my eye as they separate. See, I have an eye condition which causes extremely dry eyes when I sleep. I look ridiculous, but I’m okay with that! I snickered after I saw a picture of myself too.
I can still remember my husband snickering the first time he saw me in it. Look at me! I’m an alien! Honestly, that’s how I feel every night when I slip on this mask.
